Ask Virgil where something is
Not sure where something is in VirgilTrack? Ask Virgil Copilot. It tells you the way in the words on your screen, gives you a button that opens the place, and can point to each step on your own screen.
Find a place
Section titled “Find a place”-
Open Virgil Copilot with the round button in the bottom-right corner, or Ctrl + K.
-
Ask where it is, for example “Where do I change my password?” or “How do I get to the KPIs?”.
Virgil answers with directions, such as “Click your photo in the top-right corner, then Settings”. It finishes with a button that has the place’s name and an arrow.
-
Choose how to get there:
- Select the button with the place’s name to open the place straight away.
- Select Show me where, beside it, to be shown the way on your screen.
Virgil works out the way from the menus on your own screen, so it only points you to places you can open. If it can’t find a match, it says so and suggests the closest thing.
Being shown the way
Section titled “Being shown the way”When you select Show me where:
- The Copilot panel slides out of the way. On a phone, it closes.
- The screen dims around the first thing to select, such as your photo in the top-right corner. A bubble headed “Showing you where” says what to do, for example “Click your photo in the top-right corner.” When there are several steps, it counts them: “1 of 3”.
- Do what the bubble says. The guide moves on by itself when the next thing appears, such as a menu opening or a new page loading. If a menu closes again, it steps back.
- When you arrive, the bubble says “You’re there:” and the place’s name. It closes by itself after a few seconds.
To end the guide early, select Stop in the bubble or press Esc. When you arrive, Done closes it. The Copilot panel comes back. On a phone, it stays closed.
If something goes wrong
Section titled “If something goes wrong”| The bubble says | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| “I can’t point to that from this screen. The Take me there button opens it directly.” | The place can’t be reached from the page you are on. | Select the button with the place’s name in Virgil’s answer. |
| “I lost track of it on this screen. The Take me there button opens it directly.” | The next step didn’t appear for a few seconds, for example because a menu closed. | Select the button with the place’s name in Virgil’s answer, or ask again. |
“The Take me there button” is the button with the place’s name in Virgil’s answer.
