Communication
VirgilTrack has its own ways to talk to your colleagues, and to tell you when something needs you. This chapter explains each of them, and how to choose which messages reach you outside VirgilTrack.
Who uses this area
Section titled “Who uses this area”Everyone in an organisation uses it, whatever their role:
- Everyone can send private messages to anyone in their own organisation, and gets notifications about the work that concerns them.
- People who hand out work, such as managers and the CEO, also see who was told about the work they assigned, and how.
The main ideas
Section titled “The main ideas”- Private chat. One-to-one messages with a colleague, with files and pictures if you need them. Open Private Chat in the menu on the left, or select a colleague’s picture in the Team: bar under the header.
- Who’s online. A small dot on each colleague’s picture shows whether they are online, away or offline, so you know whether to expect a quick reply.
- Notifications. The bell in the header collects notices about things that concern you: work delegated to you, risks and controls, events, mentions, reminders and more.
- Pop-ups. While VirgilTrack is open, a new notification or chat message pops up on screen with a sound. You can answer a chat message straight from its pop-up. When you hand out work, a pop-up also tells you who will be told about it, and how.
- Emails, texts and calls. For the things that matter, VirgilTrack also emails you. Some messages can come as a text message, and reminders can phone you. You choose which in your notification settings.

Messages that wait for you
Section titled “Messages that wait for you”If a colleague sends you a private message and you haven’t read it 10 minutes later, VirgilTrack emails you about it, unless your status is Online at that moment. So you don’t miss a message just because you were away from your desk.
