Upload a document to a folder in the File Manager so that everyone in your organisation can find and open it. You can upload files from your computer or phone, or take a picture or record a video straight away.

  • Have a folder ready. Files always go inside a folder: Root holds folders only. If the right folder doesn’t exist, create it first. See Create and organise folders.
  • Check the file. You can upload pictures, videos, PDF documents and plain text (.txt) files, each up to 10 MB. See What you can upload.
  1. Open File Manager from the menu on the left.

  2. Open the folder the files belong in.

  3. Select Upload Files.

A window opens, for example “Upload Files to “Audit 2025” Folder”.

  4. Add the files, in one of these ways:

    • Drag them from your computer into the window.
    • Select browse files, or My Device, and choose them.
    • Select Camera to take a picture or record a video with your device’s camera.
    • Select Screencast to record your screen.

The files you add are listed in the window. To add others, select Add more. To take one off the list, select the cross on it.

  5. Select Upload 1 file, or Upload 3 files if you added three, for example.

  6. Wait until the bar at the bottom of the window says Complete.

  7. To upload more files to the same folder, select Done to clear the list, then add the next files. Otherwise, close the window.

Each file appears in the folder’s list as soon as it has uploaded, with its size and the date. Everyone in your organisation can now open it. See Open, download and manage files.

What Limit
Kinds of file Pictures, videos, PDF documents and plain text (.txt) files.
Size of each file Up to 10 MB.
Files at a time Up to 5 in one upload.
All the files together Up to 50 MB in one upload.

Word documents, spreadsheets, presentations and sound recordings can’t be uploaded. Save documents as PDF first: most programs have Save as PDF or Export to PDF. The window also shows an Audio button, but sound recordings are refused.

To upload more than five files, upload them in several rounds. Between rounds, select Done to clear the list.

What you see Why, and what to do
There is no Upload Files button. You are at Root. Open a folder, or create one, first.
“You can only upload: image/, video/, application/pdf, text/plain” That kind of file isn’t allowed. Save it as PDF, then upload the PDF.
“… exceeds maximum allowed size of 10 MB” The file is too big. Make it smaller, for example by saving it again as a smaller PDF, or split it into parts.
“You can only upload 5 files” Remove some files, upload these five, then upload the rest.
“You selected … of files, but maximum allowed size is 50 MB” The files together are too big. Upload them in smaller groups.
“Cannot add the duplicate file ‘…’, it already exists” You’ve already added that file to this upload.
“Upload failed” A file couldn’t be stored. Select Retry, or try again later. If it keeps happening, tell your administrator.
