Reports
A report turns what is recorded in VirgilTrack into a document you can print, email or take to a meeting. Use the Report Builder to make a PDF of your risks, for example for council, the audit committee or your auditors.
Who uses reports
Section titled “Who uses reports”- Employees and managers make reports about the risks in their own department.
- The CEO can make reports about any department, or several departments together.
Everyone who signs in to an organisation has Report Builder in the menu on the left.
The Report Builder
Section titled “The Report Builder”Open Report Builder from the menu on the left. The top bar calls the page Generate Reports. A few dashboard buttons open the same page: PDF Report on the Risk Distribution Heatmap card, Report Center on the What’s up Today card, and Generate Reports in the More Actions menu at the top of the manager dashboard.
You choose what goes into the report, then select Download. VirgilTrack makes the report and your browser saves it as a PDF file.
| Report type | What it contains | Can you choose it? |
|---|---|---|
| Risk Register Report | Your risk register, grouped by department and then by risk category, with an optional introduction page. | Yes |
| IPSAS Readiness Risk Report | Only the risks that could hold back a move to accrual-basis IPSAS accounting, grouped by risk category. | Yes |
| Risk Ownership Report | Described as “Lists only the risks assigned to you”. Not available yet. | No, it is greyed out in the list |

The main ideas
Section titled “The main ideas”A report is a snapshot. It shows your risks as they are when you select Download. If a risk changes later, make the report again.
Only assessed risks are included. A risk appears in a report only once it has a review frequency (Review every). Risks copied from the Risk Repository that are still Not assessed are left out. See The risk register.
The date range is about when risks were recorded. Within Date Range picks risks by the day they were added to VirgilTrack, not by their review or deadline dates.
Closed risks are left out unless you ask for them. Mitigated and archived risks are only included when you switch them on with Include Closed Risks and Include Achieved Risks.
