Find your way around Execution
Execution holds your organisation’s strategic plan and the work that carries it out. It has its own menu, and each role sees a different set of pages in it.
Open Execution
Section titled “Open Execution”Select Execution in the menu on the left. VirgilTrack opens the first Execution page your role has:
| Your role | Execution opens on |
|---|---|
| CEO | Overview |
| Department manager | Department Performance |
| Team manager | Initiatives |
| Employee | Work Reports |
If your organisation has no strategic plan in VirgilTrack yet, Execution shows the page for uploading one instead. See Bring in your strategic plan.
The Execution menu
Section titled “The Execution menu”Inside Execution, a column of buttons runs down the left of the page, each with an icon and a name. Select a button to open that page. The menu stays in place while you scroll. On a narrow screen, such as a phone, it becomes a row across the top that you can scroll sideways.

A department manager heads a whole department. A team manager is any other manager. See Roles and what each can do.
The Work Reports page in Execution is the same as Work Reports in the main menu. It shows the report page for your role.
Getting access to more pages
Section titled “Getting access to more pages”The CEO can give other people extra Execution pages on top of their role, for example KPIs for a strategy officer. Extra pages only add to what your role already has; they never take a page away. See Manage plans and page access.
If you open the address of a page you don’t have, VirgilTrack shows “You don’t have access to this page” and “Your role doesn’t include it. Ask your CEO to grant it under Execution → Manage.”
What you see on each page
Section titled “What you see on each page”Most Execution pages start the same way:
- a small line in capitals, STRATEGIC PLAN, followed by the plan year the page is showing, for example 2026/27;
- the page’s title, such as KPI performance or Budget;
- a line under the title with the plan or department it is about;
- on the right, the page’s buttons, such as Download report, and its counts.
A plan year is one of the years your plan is split into. Pages show the current year: the year that today falls in. If today isn’t in any of the plan’s years, most pages show the plan’s first year. The plan overview shows its last year instead, and Annual Plans shows the next year to come (or the last year, once the plan has ended). Budget, Department Performance and Annual Plans let you choose another year.
